Hyperrealistic ceramics mimic decaying wood
Ceramics have long been used to make sculptures that tease the eyes. South Korean ceramicist Haejin Lee’s latest series does that in a very authentic way. Lee moved to Vancouver, BC only two years ago after having worked in her home country for 10 years, where she received a Master’s degree in Ceramic Art from Hong-Ik University. Her newly opened studio in Vancouver specializes in tableware designs with hints of both modernity and simplicity. Her latest work involves a series of sculptures fashioned after human body parts that unravel from one focal point to the next.
