Michael Butial, an artist from San Fransciso, has created a series of whimsical illustrations that detail a day in his life.
Each illustration in ‘A Day In A Life’ features a different part of his day. One shows the process of brewing his morning coffee via french press, another shows his computer workstation, another shows the apparel he wears each day and another shows his journey to work each day. The illustrations are paired with a detailed schedule: “8:37 am: This bus ride is approximately 9 minutes, 8 intermittent stops, and 3 songs from my playlist,” or “9:30 pm: Me Time. Pop the cork and pour some wine. Bring out the cheese and crackers and let’s unwind.”

8:00 am: Shower time! Takes me about 20 minutes to shower and to get ready.
8:20 am: Make sure that I have all the stuff for work – my phone, laptop, mouse, sketchbook.
8:50 am: arrived at work.
8:52 am: go straight to the cafeteria to get more coffee and grab some breakfast.
9:30 pm: Me Time. Pop the cork and pour some wine. Bring out the cheese and crackers and let's unwind.
8:25 am: I still can't decide which socks to wear. I love my socks with patterns and colors.
8:30 am: I start walking to the bus stop. This takes me about 5 minutes.
8:35 am: Great! The bus is arriving in 2 minutes!
8:37 am: This bus ride is approximately 9 minutes, 8 intermittent stops, and 3 songs from my playlist.
7:22 am: when the water boils, I put 8 scoops of medium roast coffee in the french press.
7:32 am: I let the coffee steeps for 5 minutes. I like my coffee with sugar and cream.
7:33 – 8:00 am: I enjoy a cup of coffee while checking and responding to emails.
9:00 am: read and respond to emails. Once that is done, I spend 2 good hours to finish some pending projects.
11:00 am: Iced coffee time! I report to my manager about the projects I'm doing, then make revision if needed. […]
