Banksy’s Dismaland means to disappoint you

If you’re in the United Kingdom and would like a slightly more disappointing version of DisneyLand, Banksy has a solution for you.

For five weeks, the artist is doing an exhibition called “Dismaland”, which is his own take on the classic amusement park. For the project, Banksy and friends have created a number of pieces of street art that attempt to replicate (with some small changes) those of the original park. There will also be entertainment.

The park is taking residence at Tropicana, Weston-super-Mare, and abandoned former outdoor pool area.

“I loved the Tropicana as a kid so getting to throw these doors open again is a real honor,” said Banksy. “I hope everyone from Weston will take the opportunity to once more stand in a puddle of murky water eating cold chips to the sound of crying children.”

For more about Dismaland, check out its website. The park will be open Aug. 22 to Sept. 27.
