Intricate creatures made with origami like you have never seen before

Polish artist Piotr Sokołowski creates colorful animals from intricately folded paper.

I could call this work origami, but it is not like any origami I have seen.

Origami is traditionally subtle and seems to use the least amount of folds possible to articulate a form and describe a shape.

Sokołowski’s work may have more in common with basket weaving with repeating patterns and textures.

Below you will find some of his amazing creations like a toucan, snake, and even a military tank.
