In an age in which fantasy films are incredibly popular, you’d think we’ve seen it all thanks to computer graphics. Paul Saari, however, manages to blow us away with his amazing fantasy-inspired works made with a rather old school medium: oil paint.
The Canadian artist uses pastel tones and candy colors combined with his unique soft rendering style to depict surreal landscapes. They look as they’ve popped right out of a fairytale. But it’s the contrast between the light and dark that gets you. Saari pairs the soft colors with ominous weather conditions and shadows.
