Jess X. Snow is a Philadelphia-based mural artist whose latest work carries a powerful message.
Titled “A Daughter Migrates Toward The Mother Earth,” Snow created the mural with support from the public art nonprofit Mural Arts Philadelphia. The work features two ominous female figures formed by branches, leaves, flowers, and birds. When she’s not making murals, Snow is educating, making films, and writing poetry. The message she tries to convey through her multidisciplinary efforts involve “survival, joy, and our relationship to the Earth by amplifying the voices of those who refuse to be defined by borders, heteronormativity, gender, color, legislation and time.”
