Artist recreates famous paintings using Pantone Color Chips

There are some paintings we all know–works by renowned artists like Van Gogh, Monet, Edvard Munch and Andy Warhol. Artist Nick Smith capitalized on the fame of these pieces and made them his own, creating custom Pantone color chips and collaging them to recreate each painting.

Smith calls his project “Psycolourgy”, and simple though the concept may seem, each piece required an incredible amount of work. Smith named his new, custom colors in accordance with each piece and arrayed them so that casual art fans (like many of us) could still recognize the piece which inspired them.

See some of his work below (bonus points if you can name the paintings!), and the rest on his website.
