The epic battle of Man vs. Punctuation

The epic battle of Man vs. Punctuation

Illustrator Grant Snider has created a series of drawings for the Fiction Issue of The New Yorker. 01Working with creative director Nicholas Blechman, Snider’s illustrations reference the minimal black and white line drawings that are often seen in New Yorker cartoons, while simultaneously preserving the style elements and characters that Snider uses in his other work.

Adding the bold red punctuation marks to the outlined characters, the letter-forms are removed from the context of written text, and are instead embedded within a pictorial story line. This Man vs. Punctuation illustrated series offers yet another variety of literary conflict.
