Ballerina Misty Copeland recreates Degas paintings

Ballerina Misty Copeland made quite the splash in 2015 when she became the first African American woman to become a principal dancer at the American Ballet Theatre.

A Harper’s Bazaar feature had the dancer recreate some of the infamous works by impressionist artist Edgar Degas. The modern-day photographic replicas were created in conjunction with the opening of the exhibit, Edgar Degas: A Strange New Beauty at the Museum of Modern Art in NYC.
