Artist Sammy Slabbinck has created a series of collages that create new words by playing with proportions of people and landscapes. Using photographs of humans, she makes them larger than the landscapes she inserts them into, while sometimes they appear smaller. One image shows a girl taking a nap on a mountain, while another shows men carrying a window that has the galaxy inside.
Each collage has a unique feel to it, reminding us of the collages we created in school using newspapers, magazines and books. They’re humorous and have us thinking about perspective through the strange juxtapositions.
