Artist uses recycled skate decks to create colorful guitars

There’s a Bay Area company that is changing the game of creating guitars by combining passions and using recycled materials. Prisma Guitars is the creation of design student Nick Pourfard, who recycles old skateboard decks and transforms them into guitars.

Each guitar uses between four and 44 skateboards, resulting in the creation of beautiful, colorful instruments that are each more unique than the last. Pourfard’s work was featured in a music video for the band Walk Off the Earth, and he also created a custom-made bass for Steve Harris from Van Halen.
