Woman takes self-portraits to recreate subway vandalism

Using lipstick, eyeliner, and other makeup products, a series of self-portraits have been shot to recreate photos that have been vandalized on the subway.

In ‘Subway Makeup,’ Lydia Cambron has created a series where she recreates defaced photographs seen on the subway by replicating missing pieces of the photographs or added scribbles for a uniquely different photo series.

In many of the photographs, Cambron’s outfit and hair also matches the original portrait. The series gives a silly take on subway vandalism that users of public transit notice every day.

Cambron is a designer living and working in Brooklyn. For more of her work, visit her website.
