10 years ago, after ending up without employment due to their disabilities, Jia Haixia, a blind man, and his best friend Jia Wenqi, a double arm amputee, teamed up to replant the Chinese village of Hebei. The duo managed to plant 10,000 trees and transform three hectares of a riverbank into thriving green land, saving the ecology of the village and earning some money from the government.
The two partners, both 53, help each other with their disabilities, doing what they can do best: Wenqi would often carry Heixia on his back over the rivers, while Haixia would climb the trees to cut boughs for the saplings.
The impressive efforts of the friends haven’t gone unnoticed, as some people were generous enough to donate money for the two. Haixia has a chance to see again as a team health care professionals offered an operation for him for free. Read more about them on Daily Mail.
