Shocking photos reveal the unseen beauty in toilet seat bacteria

Have you ever wondered what the bacteria on your toilet seat looks like compared to the bacteria on your smartphone? Photographer Marcus DeSieno has you covered in his shocking series called ‘Cosmos’ featuring pictures of bacteria from all sorts of unsettling places. These colorful abstract photos reveal the unseen beauty in germs.

DeSieno used to be terrified of germs, but has clearly had a change of heart. “I carry these sterile swabs and bags everywhere I go,” he explains. So how about getting a toilet seat bacteria photograph to hang in your bathroom? Find them on his website.
