Florian Pucher is inspired by aerial views of Earth. Looking down on the land from a plane was not enough though, he wanted to see the mesmerizing patterns beneath him all the time… and so the ‘LANDCARPET’ rug series was born. The Beijing-based Austrian architect has modeled his new rugs from bird’s-eye view photographs of land.
“I have always loved to travel and tried to always get window seats on planes,” explains Pucher. His passion for aerial views has translated perfectly into clever rugs. The pieces below show rural farms, roads and rivers all stitched together into beautiful functional works of art.
