Incredible photos show wildflowers blooming in the deserts of the American West

These amazing photographs were taken in the deserts of the Colorado Plateau in the American West.

The space is typically dry and barren as far as the eye can see, looking more like a foreign planet than Earth.

On rare occasions it will rain and, like magic, this desolate place briefly comes to life with flowers pushing out from every crack.

Guy Tal documented this amazing phenomenon in his series titled ‘The Good Badlands.’ The pictures show the event from all angles giving a brilliant perspective of the individual flowers as well as the swirling colors of yellow and purple on a landscape-size sale.
