Guerrilla art through cross stitching. Is this street artist your grandma?

The street artist Urban X Stitch has taken the staid and quiet craft of cross stitch and turned it into cool public art.

The artist has found a canvas among the chain link fences and grates of his home town of Lyon, France.

Using brightly colored cloth and chord, Urban X Stitch has created a number of comic book type images such as fish, cats, owls and other more iconic images like the Disney character Pluto.

Ultimately, the images are just a lot of fun and are there to cheer people up as they go about their day.
