Think these are photos of hastily wrapped packages? How these were created will amaze you.

Think these are photos of hastily wrapped packages? How these were created will amaze you.

At first sight, Swedish artist Yrjö Edelmann’s paintings look like large packages wrapped in expensive paper.

But upon closer inspection, your eye and brain will realize that the parcels are actually two-dimensional oil paintings.

Endelmann meticulously paints each crinkle, rip and surface of the wrapping paper as truthfully as he can.

He even includes the tape holding the paper closed to such realistic effect that you feel like you can reach out and open the package.

Endelmann’s artwork shows that a master painter can make even the most mundane object interesting!
