Richard Franklin is known for his glamorous shots of sultry female models. Because he worked alone and preferred not to drag all his equipment from one location to the next, he transformed his personal home into a studio, where each room functions as a different background for his photographs.
The six floors include a casino, theater, walk-in shower, neon lights, disco floor, pool, and an Egyptian room. Franklin is now selling his house for over six million dollars. The house has an estimated monthly-mortgage of $26,385. Franklin seemed almost uncomfortable when discussing his LA studio/house: “I don’t buy into the culture we live in today, but you wouldn’t know that looking at my house.”
