Animal feet doing human things. I am thoroughly creeped out now.

Photographer Davide Luciano, and food-stylist Claudia Ficca are a collaborative-couple based in NYC. Their hysterical ‘Gourmet Mouse Traps’ appeared in one of our previous articles here. The idea for their photo series, ‘Cold Feet,’ was inspired by an excursion through the Chinatown market.

‘Cold feet’ places chicken claws, pig feet, frog legs and lobster claws into human scenarios like getting a manicure, drinking, or playing cards. The limbs are not only personified but animated, positioned in a way that disguises their dismemberment. There is a satiric quality to Luciano’s and Ficca’s images: you can’t help looking at the pig foot image without being reminded of opulence gone sour, or the chicken claws without thinking of a pair of superficial women’s nonsensical brattle.
