Everyday objects transformed into epic sculptures

Michel de Broin is an artist that assembles ordinary objects into sculpture. De Broin often arranges these objects to form shapes and patterns, and in doing so, makes us see them from a completely different sculptural perspective.

Street lamps are welded together to form huge spheres that resemble a child’s jack, and office chairs are collected into a spiny globe. De Broin’s outdoor installations are like M.C. Escher’s stairways to nowhere, but realized in three dimensions using brick. In other sculptures, De Broin humorously replaces liquid for electricity with streams of water rather than electric currents pouring from wall jacks and power tools.

De Broin whimsically transforms the everyday into the extraordinary.
