Surprising accordion-style paper sculptures on view in NY

Our favorite paper sculptor is back with a new series of accordion-style works on view in New York City. Chinese sculptor Li Hongbo, featured previously here, has unveiled an addition to his series of classical white marble-looking sculptures that are actually made completely of folded paper. His new exhibition is titled ‘Tools of Study.’

These sculptures appear serious in subject matter and solid in material, but actually stretch out and distort into goofy shapes and sizes. His new video below is surprising and funny! If you want to see his work in person it is on view at the Klein Sun Gallery in New York City through March 2, 2014.
