French photographer Olivier Culmann’s new book, Watching TV, captures ordinary people from around the world in the simple yet hypnotic act of watching television. Culmann spent years photographing people in countries as diverse as China, France, India, Lithuania, Mexico, Nigeria and the United States.
The photos show people in a wide variety of positions and attire: sprawled on a couch, sitting, or curled up on a bed. The photos also show the subjects with the exact same facial expression – people enthralled by the small screen. The book shows that despite a difference in culture, television has a become an addiction around the world.
