The world’s longest continuous wood carved sculpture

Chinese artist Zheng Chunhui recently unveiled his latest piece – a 40 foot (12.286 meters) long wooden sculpture carved right into the side of tree. Chunhui spent nearly four years carving the massive piece that is reminiscent of a famous painting called “Along the River During the Qingming Festival.” The festival takes place during a historic holiday that celebrates past ancestors on the 104th day after the winter solstice.

On November 14th, the Guinness World Records awarded Zheng Chunhui’s sculpture the title of “the longest continuous wooden sculpture in the world”. Zheng Chunhui’s piece is currently on display in Fuzhou, Fujian Province in China.
