British architectural firm 3rdSpace is continuing the trend of bringing spaces that are typically found inside homes, outside into the open space. For this project, a literature professor wanted a new space for her extensive collection of books and 3rdSpace was on the case.
3rdSpace designed a prefab unit that can easily be constructed or packed up and moved should the tenant relocate. The structure measures 2.5×2.5x5m with an exterior made of black thermowood. The interior is constructed with a more aesthetically comfortable white birch plywood. The front is covered in glass to let the light in, with shelves for books lining the walls inside.
This private space would make any literature professor happy!
