Minji Jung’s beach friendly Screw Cup

Those who love leaving their cups on the beach as they dip into the sea are often faced with the problem of spilling their beloved beverage due to the precarious sand surface.  South Korean designer Minji Jung has created a set of cups made especially for the beach.

The Screw Cup is a alternative to your typical tumbler. As the name suggests, you can turn the mug like a screw, securing it into the sand. It’s a practical solution for unpredictable coastal conditions.

Jung, currently based in Barcelona, says that the cup has two advantages when dug into the ground. First, the liquid won’t spill aside and second, the drink is kept cool even during hot summer days.
