‘Fat Flag’ photo series shows edible nationalism

Jonathan Icher, a Paris-based photographer, is responsible for this humorous depiction of various nationalities eating the foods commonly associated with each region. Icher calls this masterpiece ‘Fat Flag.’ Makeup artist Anastasia Parquet assisted him with the body paint, which expertly recreates each country’s flag on the skin of the subjects.

Or ‘Fat Flag’ could simply be an artistic rendering to help us reflect on the different ways we relate to food.
