Absurd online comic ‘Hyperbole and a Half’ moves to print

Hyperbole and a Half‘ is a popular web comic created by Allie Brosh. Brosh draws the comic in a deliberately rough style using the primitive digital art program ‘Paintbrush.’  The comic depicts real events in her life, including her childhood and humorous challenges of adulthood.

Hyperbole and a Half’s visual style comes from “rage comics”, which have a simple language and crude artistic style. Despite the “rage comic” influence, Hyperbole appeals to a huge range of readers because of its humor. Earlier this year, Brosh transitioned her popular characters into print with the publication of her book, “Hyperbole and a Half: Unfortunate Situations, Flawed Coping Mechanisms, Mayhem, and Other Things That Happened.”
