7 famous art museums recreated with gingerbread

For this year’s Art Basel winter festival in Miami Beach, Brooklyn-based artist Henry Hargreaves and stylist Caitlin Levin have collaborated to recreate the world’s most famous museums in nothing but gingerbread and candy.

The iconic architectural structures of places like the Lourve; in Paris, the Tate Modern; in London, and Zaha Hadid’s Maxxi; in Rome are rebuilt in miniature style with precision and the best part is they’re all edible! The choice of photographing them in black and white transforms the gingerbread into a mysterious material and allows the structures to look even more realistic.

You can see the behind-the-scenes pictures of these gingerbread museums in full-color at Henry Hargreaves’ Facebook page.
