Newly designed iconic sports cars have an incredible challenge of balancing history with new technology and styling trends. Ford has unleashed its new design of the classic American Mustang with this first look at the sleek 2015 pony car. The new styling is a subtle fresh departure from the major retro makeover of 2005. The design seems a little tighter, longer, and aerodynamic, while retaining basic iconic design elements like the taillights.
Aside from its updated styling there is an interesting technical evolution as the Mustang moves further into the 21st century. The powerful muscle car will be offering a four-cylinder turbo engine option. Don’t be fooled by the missing cylinders, this precision machine will still put out an incredible 305 horsepower. This is a clear move to align with modern ideas of fuel economy. The mustang will still come standard with 6-cylinders and, of coarse, the 8-cylinder GT muscle option.
Do you think this sixth-gen Mustang was changed too much, too little, or was a lost cause decades ago…?
