Natascha Harra-Frischkorn of hafriko has created a unique shelving system that is more than meets the eye. Affectionally named, Chuck, this shelf is a flexible wood panel system that adapts to each items individual height.
At first glance, and with nothing on it, Chuck appears to be a pretty straight-forward (if slightly bowing) shelf. But as you add items to the different layers it playfully adapts into a crooked kind of smile.
The design consists of six layered wooden planks with 2 stainless steel brackets securing them to the wall. Each piece of wood can be adjusted individually so the user can fit their favorite objects on-top of, below and between the boards. Depending on how the items are placed on the shelf, the planks curve up or sag down adding a playful modern design element to your home or office.
