Bold branding makeover for Chicago coffee house

Windy city coffee shop chain 'Dollop' hired Firebelly Design to create a new identity, menu and signs for their then three (now four) Chicago locations. Firebelly designed the menus to be suggestive of shipping receipts. These receipts are important in the coffee bean’s history - coffee beans were and still are a commodity that is primarily grown in third world countries and shipped around the world to developed countries. Firebelly’s design cultivates connections “between human beings and ideas” and was an “early advocate for socially responsible design.” The design firm prides itself in being a company that “pioneered an ethic that values honesty, empathy and Good Design for Good Reason™.” ...

Facebook introduces ‘Like’ button redesign

Facebook has introduced it's first ever redesign of their 'Like' and 'Share' buttons since their introduction in 2010. It is an appropriate time for a facelift as they are well worn having been clicked over 22 billion times since their inception!  This new button design flip-flops the color of the text and background bringing the the 'Facebook Blue' forward for a bolder look on websites. Also, the button typeface receives a facelift making it a little tighter and a little bolder for optimal noticeability over the growing number of other social icons. The new design will automatically be upgraded in the coming weeks onto sites that currently use the feature. from left to right: like, share, like + share button...
