Disney Research develops 3D augmented reality coloring book

We have come to expect nothing but originality fused with creativity from Disney. Here’s a look at their new 3D coloring book.

As part of their first foray into the world of Augmented Reality, designers over Disney Research have developed an augmented reality coloring book. While there already are 3D coloring apps like Quiver, Disney’s iteration lets you see your work develop in real-time. The app can also generate simulated textures for the back of the objects by applying pixels onto a lookup map and then roughly guessing the texture at the back and “relaxing” it using a virtual spring.
