Japanese rock star, Yoshiki ramped up his performance by engaging in a dilettante-piano duel with a holographic version of himself. This performance concluded SXSW, the Technology and Music Festival in Austin, Texas.

The life-sized digital hologram of Yoshiki appeared first. After introducing himself, and the song, he sat down at the piano and began to play. Then to the audience’s surprise a second less-luminescent real Yoshiki appeared onstage and sat at a second piano, across from his digital-self. The coinciding duel/duet was laced with dramatic head and arm gestures on both sides.

The musician, songwriter, composer and record producer has now embarked on a world tour which began on April 25th.
