J.J. Abrams designs limited edition ‘Mystery Box’ to inspire creativity

J.J. Abrams, one of the most creative minds in the entertainment industry, recently gave an inspiring TED Talk about a mystery box given to Abrams by his grandfather a long time ago. While he has never opened the box, Abrams uses the mystery that lingers around its contents as a source of inspiration.

Now, the LOST mastermind is out to give everyone else the same type of inspiration. After teaming up with Theory 11, Abrams and his company Bad Robot have produced a series of limited edition ‘Mystery Boxes‘ crafted gorgeously from reclaimed wood. In the box, is a letter signed by Abrams and 12 decks of Mystery Box Playing Cards designed by Abrams himself. The cards “were designed and developed as a monument to mystery – a tribute to our love of magic, wonder, and infinite possibility.”
