Street artists play a unique role in our culture that allows them to publicly and anonymously speak their mind no matter how radical, right, wrong, shocking or unsettling their idea might be. Because one ‘person’ is not held responsible, there is no one to blame for insensitivity – except maybe the cops or “the man” for not censoring these uncomfortable works of art forced onto society.
The art of Plastic Jesus is about “shining a small light into some of those dark corners of society then standing back and watching reactions and opinions.” He makes public guerrilla sculpture about credit card traps, famous people, advertising and even Edward Snowden. Plastic Jesus does not work in a specific style or medium, but rather forms these variables around the idea that he wants to project in the work.
