Bizarre video captures motionless subway crowd from moving train

Subway trains provide an experience unlike any other. The mere feeling you get when you realize that you’re packed with hundreds of other people in a container underground is claustrophobic for many… like me. For videographer Adam Magyar, trains pulling into subway stops is just another opportunity to create art.

At 50 frames per second, using a high-speed camera, Magyar filmed the waiting crowds from inside of the trains pulling into subway stops. The video series, titled ‘Stainless,’ creates a surreal paradoxical feeling as the people seem to remain motionless in contrast to the trains, which are moving quickly through the station.

So far, Magyar has filmed scenes from subways in Tokyo, New York, and Berlin. Check out a couple of our favorites below!
