A physical therapist wanted a building designed to hold his home and practice in a single space. The dream was intended to ensure privacy while simultaneously placing his practice at a convenient location, visible to the public. ma hoRe Architects have designed the ‘muk Residence,’ a modern home in Saalfelden, Salzburg, Austria, which successfully accommodates the therapists career vs. convenience needs.
The lower-front part of the building, facing the road, is used for working purposes while the upper part offers a private living area. Using concrete as the primary building material enabled efficient construction while glass surfaces on the ground floor of the living area allow light to enter the space.
Would you live where you work if it looked this good?
