Soon you’ll begin to see a sleek new badge on your neighborhood Cadillac. Their modernized emblem has been in the redesign process since 2011, and the result is a look that matches their lean style evolution. The updated design looses the wreath and stretches the crest into an angular form, but retains the classic colors that make it an icon for luxury automobiles.
Andrew Smith, executive director of Global Cadillac design, explains the change, “In this iteration, you’ll see the crest matches our longer, lower and leaner mantra that we have on the current portfolio of vehicles. It mirrors the evolution we’re going through on our art and science philosophy.”
The Cadillac emblem has seen 38 styles in nearly 112 years of production. Its design evolution is not fluid like many car brands, but instead the crest has boldly reinvented itself many times in its long history. Check out some of Cadillac’s historic emblem variations below.
