Bold branding makeover for Chicago coffee house

Windy city coffee shop chain ‘Dollop‘ hired Firebelly Design to create a new identity, menu and signs for their then three (now four) Chicago locations. Firebelly designed the menus to be suggestive of shipping receipts. These receipts are important in the coffee bean’s history – coffee beans were and still are a commodity that is primarily grown in third world countries and shipped around the world to developed countries.

Firebelly’s design cultivates connections “between human beings and ideas” and was an “early advocate for socially responsible design.” The design firm prides itself in being a company that “pioneered an ethic that values honesty, empathy and Good Design for Good Reason™.”
