Penney Design set out to reimagine the artwork of songs by contemporary artists like Lady Gaga, Interpol, The Libertines, and Thom Yorke as if they were released on vinyl decades ago. As a clever exercise in trading nostalgia, these dusty single sleeves pay tribute to a time when vinyl was the only music format of choice.
Complete with scuff marks, bent corners, ring wear and price sticker residue, these 45RPM 7″ singles look just like the type you would find in a used dollar bin at a record store. The choice of typography and aesthetics is spot-on.
Would you buy these if you stumbled upon them while digging through boxes of old vinyl?
