Designer Funn Roberts was approached by Victor Kartheiser (from AMC’s Mad Men) and tasked with renovating the actor’s Hollywood space. The two have been collaborating since 2010 with Katheiser offering his ideas and Roberts adapting the actor’s vision into livable designs.
The eye-catcher of this modern home, which Kartheiser refers to as “Japanese industrial”, is the bed. The retractable bed is attached to a massive 300-pound steel counterweight on a pulley system to easily lift the bed to the ceiling when not is use. This way, the furniture does not interfere with the actor’s work and he can roam around with more efficient use of space.
