Custom 3D printed toys by Aminimal

John and Lana Briscella have created a new platform for customized 3D printed designer toys called ‘Inkimals’. Their company, Aminimal, has launched a Kickstarter campaign that allows their backers to participate in their studio’s creative process. From the illustration development to the final manufacturing, you can see the templates, production, and the digital and traditional tools used to create the colorful 3D toys.

Each character is made by digitally rendering its frontal façade, similar to a two-part molding technique. The form’s angles are rounded to make the best use of graphic space as well as reduce distortion and image stretching.

Users can pick from a cast of characters including a rabbit, a monster and a ghost template. Head to their Kickstarter page here to get yours!
