Art on your plate: Hong Yi’s 31 days of food art

Hailing from Malaysia, the architect-artist Hong-Yi, also known as “Red”, has created a series of intricate art works using a white plate as a canvas. Hong-Yi is known for her painting, but not with a brush. She uses elements from different food items and assembles them into a delicious painting.

During the month-long project Hong-Yi created a new food composition each day.  The same white square plate was recycled as the canvas for a creation that anyone could feast their eyes on via the Internet. The series concluded in March 31 and the photos were shown to the world using Instagram
