Arctic-ready sled habitats by Rob Sweere

Wandering the frigid Uummannaq Island is artist Rob Sweere inside of his new ‘sledge-project’ house vehicles. Rob was commissioned by the Uummannaq Polar Institute to design and build a pair of snow friendly traveling homes on-site in Northwestern Greenland.

These hybrid objects are part house, part vehicle and the mobile dwellings can be towed from place-to-place by animals or snowmobiles. Each habitat can host up to six people for cozy traveling across the icy terrain. The modern industrial styling of the sleds contrasts the organic shapes of the surrounding landscape while the matte white finish camouflages them into the prevalent snowbanks.

I guess if you have to travel in arctic weather you should do it in style!
