Nissan is turning heads this week with their new electric BladeGlider concept car debuting at the Tokyo Motor Show. Designer Ben Bowlby first manifested the smart design in 2008 as a way to achieve supreme aerodynamics. Instead of trying to make the archetypal automobile design more efficient the BladeGlider was founded by designing from the ground up.
The first question in the design process was: What is the most efficient shape of a car? The second question was: How do we fit this design to a modern lifestyle? While this super-efficient design is perfect for the electric automobile it has yet to be determined if and when it will be produced for public roads. Would you drive this crazy car?
