Maria Laura Benavente Sovieri makes incredible food still-life sculptures using just colored paper. She creates these grocery scenes for her advertising and editorial clients. The compositions feature a variety of eatables such as breakfast, dairy products, and even seafood (Check out that squid!).
The geometric food art is deceiving. First, it appears to have origins in graphic design, but upon closer inspection you discover that this is all three-dimensional paper sculpture. The simple folding of solid color creates the illusion of graphic art because of its vector-like block shading. Amazing. Some of those veggies look good enough to eat!
